When the French Savoir vivre meets the Latin mojo then…the perfect wedding in Greece is a one way road! We were amazed on how perfectly Juan Carlos and Benoit orchestrated their cultures and personal tastes, balancing an all-time classic ceremony & reception and of course…a thriving party!
Shining like rock stars they’ve become one of our hearts' favorite couples. They were present, stress free and enjoyed every single moment to the max!
The heart touching vows were exchanged in the leafy courtyard of Hatzi Mansion, adorned with a gazebo of fresh mixed foliage. Moving to aperitivo, guests mingled on the outdoor yard, sipping cocktails and grazing on canapes while drinking in the seaside and mountain views.
For dinner, the Mansion was transformed into a dining space spilling with vibrant tones and texture. Black linens were set with arrangements of fresh foliage and crispy white flowers, while crystal chandeliers elegantly swung from above…
Families from Latin America and France, friends from NY and all over the world were dancing under the Greek blue sky with two of the sky stars dancing with them. Call it MAGIC!
See below their love story and destination wedding experience on their own eyes:
We live in New York and met in the summer of 2016 at a friend’s baby shower. That day, we made a hard impression on each other, but we didn’t get to talk. Luckily enough, we both had made plans to spend a fun weekend at a beach destination near the city, where, by chance we again found each other at the end of a night dancing away. We were immediately hooked, and spent hours talking and getting to know each other. Under the stars, at the end of the night, one of us said “I think one day we could be boyfriends”. Fast forward to 2018 to a cold winter night in beautiful Paris - we both proposed without knowing the other one had the same plan – we both had a ring in our pockets!... and engaged with champagne on a boat on the Seine river.
We were very excited and started planning our wedding, but quickly decided that New York venues were not made for us. We figured that a destination wedding in Europe fit our style and love for refinement and simplicity you can only find in the old world. After doing some research, we found Stella & Moscha, and following a couple of phone interviews with our amazing wedding planner Lydia, we decided to come to Athens for a venue scouting trip. We immediately fell in love with Ktima Hatzi, a unique mansion on a hill overlooking the Athenian riviera. Even though a surprise pandemic made us push our date three times, we stayed closely in touch with all our vendors for two years - and this only made our love grow stronger and our excitement build up even more…
A destination wedding was the best decision we ever made. We both have families and friends scattered across Europe, the U.S. and Latin America. No better place for a destination wedding than Greece during the summer, and particularly Athens for all to get excited for a trip to the islands after the celebration. No words can express our gratitude for all the people who supported us and accompanied us during the planning, execution and celebration of our wedding. The day was simply magical, it was truly the best day of our lives!
We want to give credit to our wedding planning Stella & Moscha; our venue Ktima Hatzi; our flower vendor Comme ça; our photographer Nikos Gogas; our videographer Alex Stabasopoulos; our string quartet Artistic Productions; our pre-wedding venue Odos Lisiou; our post-wedding venue Varkiza Resort; our hotel Innathens; our tailor Gianni Ferrucci; our shoe store Bexley; our Champagne Gloria Latizeau; our jewelers DeBeers and Cartier.
