Greek Orthodox wedding
Andriana and Alex’s destination wedding weekend was the perfect blend of relaxation, elegance, celebration and honoring roots. Set on the stunning island of Santorini, each moment was full of beautiful vintage details, old charm, bright skies and high-spirited guests. The ceremony took place at the Cathedral Church of Santorini, overlooking the volcano. The couple wanted to honor their heritage, so in true Greek style Alex waited for the bride outside the church, while local musicians serenaded Andriana - a centuries old custom.
Champagne cocktails & dinner followed at the La Maltese with its extraordinary view of the far-famed sunsets of Santorini. Since this was an intimate wedding with 40 guests, we set up a long table so it feels like a family gathering.
One of our favorite details was the mirror ‘aisle’ at the centre of the dinner table. The candles and the touches of silver & gold created a wonderful vintage-like feel. A mix of porcelain and glass vases filled with lush bouquets of hydrangeas, orchids and roses complemented the look. Greek musicians made sure there was enough syrtaki, while the talented Showtime DJ’s kept the dance floor alive until the small hours of the morning. The wedding had the couple’s original touch, while also paying homage to the beauty and history of Santorini.
