We can’t imagine anything better than a big, fabulous celebration in the Greek islands, with lots of music, Greek food and a couple that simply can’t stop smiling. We are so happy to be have been a part of Maria and Vasilios’ wedding. A lovely young couple from the US but still from two families that are proudly hold on to their Greek routes and Greek Orthodox traditions.

Their wedding ceremony was a special and touching service performed by three reverent priests from Santorini but also from Jerusalem, one of which actually performed the bride’s parents’ wedding almost two decades ago. Watch out for the VIP guest that carried the rice: the sweet donkey that patiently waited for the couple to exchange their rings, the “stefana” (wedding crowns) and finally be pronounced husband and wife, so he can share the rice with all the guests that showered newlyweds for good luck and prosperity.

Their guests enjoyed cocktails and drinks at the magical Erosatorini villa in the heart of Santorini, that has unparalleled sunset views but still offers a very rare privacy feel that is hard to find on the island.

The décor was, of course, inspired by the timeless elegance of the olive branch which “dressed” the dinner tables, the traditional treats station, the olive oil corner specially made for the wedding guests as well as Maria’s stylish bouquet.

The celebrations were topped with a spectacular 5 tear cake and a burst of fireworks that got the party started that lasted until the early morning hours.

We will never forget this wedding or this wonderful couple and their families but we are lucky that Vangelis Beltzenitis and his team was there to capture it all so we can keep the memories for ever. Enjoy!
